It’s winter! Too early this year, do not you think? Colds and flu have already begun disturb us. Even if we can not totally avoid them, here are some very simple ways to help us keep them.
1 💡 SLEEPING
When one is tired, one catches the viruses more easily. We need 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night and if possible, we do a power nap in the afternoon.
2 💡 HYDRATE
It is hydrated by drinking a lot of water or even teas or herbal teas. We tend to forget during the cold season, since we feel less thirst, but our body needs as much hydration as in summer!
3 💡 WASH YOUR HANDS
Wash hands frequently with soap and water to protect themselves from germs. I also carry in my purse an alcohol-based disinfectant for outings and events. It is better not to abuse the question of not drying the skin of our hands even more.
4 💡 EATING FRUITS AND VEGETABLES RICH IN VITAMIN C
Every day, we eat 7 servings of fruits and vegetables, which are rich in vitamin C. The super fruits to consume are berries, citrus fruits, kiwis, pineapple, melon. Vegetables that are stuffed with vitamin C are peas, cabbage, tomato, potatoes, sweet potatoes and peppers.
5 💡 BREAKFAST
With us, the day always starts with orange juice, yogurt and vitamins. Vitamin D supplements and pro biotic are also strongly recommended to strengthen our immune system. Several types of yogurt contain one billion bacteria per 100g, which is the recommended daily dose.
6 💡 MOVE
We do sports and we take walks every day. Moving keeps us in shape and stimulates our immune system. In addition, it helps us to sleep better and it does good morale!
7 💡 RELAX
We eliminate the stress by offering moments of relaxation, whether by reading a good novel wrapped in our blanket, a bubble bath or a hot sauna. Nadine also listed 10 ideas to create a relaxing cocoon at home.
8 💡 AIRING THE HOUSE
We do not overheat the house and we open a window a few minutes every day to renew the air inside, even if it is a cold duck!
9 💡 DO NOT SMOKE
No smoking! Cigarette smoking makes our immune system weaker and there are a thousand other reasons to stop smoking.
10 💡 GET VACCINATION
And if you are in contact with high-risk people, get vaccinated against seasonal flu, this can prevent you from getting sick.
